Last week I received a call from the pastor’s wife because a member had called on the pastor to go visit a loved one in the hospital but the pastor was out of town at a ‘Camp Meeting’ (where volunteers & pastors get together to pray before kid’s camp). Anyway, I was told that this particular person was in the local hospital near me, in ICU and needed both healing and salvation.
This was Thursday morning. I headed over there about noon and the nurses had just doped him up to calm him down so he was quite out of it. I asked how often they give this medication and they said it depends but mostly every few hours. I left and came back just before 3 PM. The family was there this time but they had also just put him down again. I asked what was wrong with him and they said he was in congestive heart failure, liver & kidneys were shutting down and he had fluid on his lungs. So, I spoke to his body and the spirit among him and commanded it to go, the sickness to go and the body to function & heal. He started coughing and saying he was feeling better almost immediately and even was trying to get up, although he was ‘wired in’ pretty good.
I left again and told his family to call when he is more alert and aware. Well, I never heard from the family and I still had not shared the gospel with him so I decided I was going to go back. Saturday I arrived and he was sleeping again so I decided Sunday I would go and no matter his condition, I was going to share the Good News with him, even if we needed to bind the power of the medication in order to speak directly to his soul! Turns out that after church on Sunday he was doing much better! He was out of bed, sitting on the chair and able to have a conscious conversation. Now, during the Sunday morning service, the pastor was back and he told the congregation this testimony but he mentioned something I did not know prior. He said that this man was not expected to make it through the first night, Thursday night, but that after that prayer around 3 PM Thursday he began to improve and was then much better by Sunday. So Sunday I went and was able to give him some hard truths about his way of life and the kingdom of darkness that was about to claim their reward vs the Kingdom of Light that had saved his life and now wants to save his soul! He gave intellectual knowledge to what I was saying but I was speaking to his soul and he did let me pray with him before I left so I am confident the Word will not return void on this and we have won both his body and his soul and his spirit!
